This 1 hour class introduces brand new shooters to the basics of how to safely operate a handgun in preparation for a License To Carry class (LTC). The student will learn basic safety as well as how to load/unload, aim, and fire a handgun.

This 3 hour course introduces new shooters to the the fundamentals of handgun safety, handgun handling, basic marksmanship, and maintenance. Students will need to bring 250 rounds of pistol ammunition.
Cost: $180
This 3 hour course builds beyond the introduction course and focuses on more advanced techniques such as clearing malfunctions, drawing from holster, and marksmanship. Students will need 250 rounds of pistol ammunition.
Cost: $180
This 4 hour course builds beyond the intermediate course and focuses on more advanced shooting techniques such as multiple targets, shooting from behind barricades, shooting positions, and advanced marksmanship. Students will need 350 rounds of pistol ammunition.

This 3 hour course introduces new shotgun shooters to the fundamentals of the tactical shotgun with emphasis in loading/unloading techniques and clearing malfunctions. Students will need to bring 75 rounds of #8 Pellet ammunition and 25 rounds of OO Buckshot ammunition.
Cost: $180
This 4 hour course introduces new shooters to the fundamentals of the AR-15 Carbine with emphasis in loading and unloading, clearing malfunctions, and basic marksmanship. Students will need to bring 400 rounds of 5.56/.223 ammunition.

After you register, you complete the classroom portion of the class online, from the comfort of your home. Then, you can choose from a list of our partner ranges, where you want to do the Live Fire portion of the class.
Students should bring the following:
- Appropriate firearm for the class (Rentals are available)
- Ammunition (MPS has ammo for sale, if needed)
- Holster for pistol (No Serpa Holsters, No IWB Holsters, No canvas holsters)
- Ear/Eye Protection
- Sturdy Belt (needed to carry a holster)
- Hat with brim
- No open toe shoes
- Water/Snacks
- Clothing appropriate for shooting (No sweat pants, yoga pants, etc)
Please pay attention to the following as failure to adhere to these instructions may prevent
a student from participating in a class:
Students who do not follow basic safety rules, as explained in the class' Safety Briefing, will be immediately dismissed from the class. No refunds will be made.
MPS has a NO REFUND policy. Students who fail to show up for class will not receive a refund. They may re-schedule for a different day when the same class is being offered ONLY if previously arranged with MPS . A re-scheduling request, via e-mail, must be made with a minimum of 24 hour notice from the date of the class.
Classes will start promptly at the scheduled time. If a student is not on time and they miss the safety briefing, they will not be allowed to participate in the class. The student will need to re-schedule for another day when the same class is being offered.
Students must bring their gear for the class. Students who do not bring the appropriate gear for the class, as stated in the previous section, will not be allowed to participate. MPS will have some gear for rent or sale, if needed.
New Students (First time shooters) who will be renting a firearm, please coordinate with MPS about additional gear needed for the class.
